The Surrey Heath Sports Awards are back – and we are on the lookout for local people who’ve had a standout year in sports or physical activity in the past year.
The awards celebrate local coaches, participants, volunteers, organisers and everybody in between who deserve to be recognised for their achievements.
Maybe you know an athlete who has excelled, a coach who goes above and beyond – or maybe you attend a local group that is the highlight of your week. Whoever you want to recognise, we want to hear from you!
Those who are shortlisted for an award will be invited to the Sports Awards ceremony at Camberley Theatre on Monday 17 October.
Nominations are now open for individuals or groups that make sport and physical activity happen in Surrey Heath for the following categories:
- Sporting Moment of the Year
- Community Project of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
- Inclusive Sport Award
- Outstanding Service Award
Surrey Heath Portfolio Holder Leisure, Culture & Community, Cllr Rebecca Jennings-Evans, said:
“The Surrey Heath Sports Awards aim to celebrate all the brilliant sports that are taking place across the borough.
Physical exercise in any form is essential for our physical fitness and mental well-being so I encourage everyone to get involved with a sport they enjoy and have fun!
“If you know of an individual, team, group or organisation who have gone above and beyond in sport in Surrey Heath, please do head to our website and nominate them – it’s quick and easy to do, and a great way to show your appreciation.”
Nominations close on Friday 30 September. To make a nomination and to view the award criteria please visit www.surreyheath.gov.uk/sportsawards
