Camberley Theatre

Camberley Theatre History

The Camberley Theatre was first opened in October 1966, but a lot of people will remember it as The Civic Hall or The Camberley Civic, the name was later changed to its now known name The Camberley Theatre.

Over its life, the Camberley Theatre has always been very popular with people, bands and shows it has seen the likes of Lenny Henry, The Dubliners, Barbara Dickson, Julian Lloyd Webber, Des O’Connor, T’Pau, Craig Charles, The Chuckle Brothers and Jenny Agutter pass through its stage doors.

The theatre over the years has gone from being just a hall with chairs and a stage to having proper auditorium secured racked seating and the latest in Hi Tech lighting and sound systems.

In 2016 the building and theatre was given a full make over inside to secure its place and standing with the likes of the other local theatres.
