You may have seen that Surrey Heath’s 7 day Covid-19 rate has dipped below 100 today.
For the first time since early November.It’s a HUGE drop from 800+, where it stood in the first week of January, just over a month ago. And although it’s not over yet, we wanted to acknowledge the massive effort that everyone has put in to get us to this point.
And say a really heartfelt thank you to you all.
For following the guidance, even when you’ve been missing your family like mad.
For all the sacrifices you’ve made, from lockdown birthdays spent at home to missing out on fun times with friends.For staying sane (just!) juggling work and home schooling.For looking out for your neighbours.
For adapting to this ‘new normal’ in the best way you can.For doing your bit to help to #KeepSurreyHeathSafe.
We know it’s tough – we miss seeing our family and friends in person too. We even miss our work colleagues – video calls just aren’t the same!But we’re getting through this together.And we have some special thank yous… to all the key workers who have continued to go to work throughout this pandemic, to help keep our community running.
Your commitment really is appreciated by us all. to the fantastic volunteers at our vaccine centres who are helping everyone getting their jab, which is vital in our fight against Covid-19.
You are truly making a difference, to the dedicated NHS staff – you are real life heroes for the amazing work you do every single day.
Thank you just doesn’t seem enough.
We know there’s still a way to go in this journey – but this is a milestone we felt needed to be acknowledged.It shows what we can achieve when we all work together for a common goal.
So once again, thank you Surrey Heath.Let’s keep it up – and keep going as we look towards the future with renewed hope, We don’t know exactly what will happen in the coming weeks – but we know that we’re part of an amazing community.
