What once called the Cottage Hospital Frimley is now known as Frimley Children Centre which is now close down.
Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is consulting on initial plans to redevelop the Frimley Children’s Centre.
Under the plans, the historic children’s centre building in Church Road will be retained and restored as luxury apartments.
The rest of the site will comprise about 80 apartments for hospital key workers, such as doctors and nurses, plus a proportion of private housing..
Retaining hospital services at the Children’s Centre site in the long term is not possible, due to escalating repair and maintenance costs. Damage to the roof means that the upper floor of the main building has been out of use for some time.
Redevelopment of the site will enable the trust to provide much needed accommodation for some of the community’s most vital staff.
