Surrey Heath Borough Council raised a flag for the UK Armed Forces

The Armed Forces Day flag was raised outside Surrey Heath House ahead of the national day of commemoration, which this year takes place on Saturday 25 June 2022.

The flag is raised by local authorities across the country in the week leading up to Armed Forces Day.

Those attending the ceremony included; The Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr Helen Whitcroft, Lieutenant Colonel Samantha Hull RLC, Commanding Officer, Sandhurst Support Unit and Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) Station Commander, Warrant Officer Class 1 Ian Lemming, Regimental Sergeant Mayor (RSM) RMAS, Christopher-Dean Jackman, Station Staff Officer, RMAS,  Cllr Alan McClafferty, Leader, SHBC, Cllr Adrian Page SHBC Champion for the Armed Forces Covenant, Inspector Gemma Taylor, Borough Commander, Surrey Heath Police, Tom Page, Able Sea Cadet and Damian Roberts Chief Executive, SHBC.

The Royal British Legion County Standard Bearer was Mrs Ann Cane, from the Woman’s Section.

Jenny Knight, the Mayor’s Celebrant officiated at the event.
