Superhero Trail concludes a marvellous summer at The Square Camberley

The Square Camberley has concluded its free summer of superheroes that has been running throughout the school holidays, attracting over half a million visitors to the centre.

The summer began with a superhero-themed Kids Camp, with tenants such as Mrs Potts Place, The Little Gym, Camberley Library, Creation Station and Bowman Goalkeeping hosting free sessions for children. Attendees were encouraged to unleash their artistic talents and get themselves moving in sporty activities, with all sessions proving to be a fantastic hit with children and parents alike.

The main event of the summer was the Superhero Trail, a succession of eleven life-sized superheroes and one life-sized supervillain around the shopping centre, featuring fan favourite characters Black Panther, The Joker, Spiderman and even a three metre tall Hulk. Visitors were encouraged to pick up a trail guide and complete the questions to receive a free superhero gift.

Alongside the trail, guests could enjoy Comic Book Wednesdays and Fancy Dress Fridays – complete with free face painting and a costume parade. Young artists enjoyed showcasing their design skills and creating their very own comics, with the help of the event staff.

The ‘Design a Superhero’ competition also proved to be very popular, with Connie Richmond, age 11, winning a £100 Love Camberley voucher for their exceptional superhero creation, Chronium.

Central Square also hosted a gravity-defying photo opportunity, that saw guests dress up to pose alongside a fun backdrop to enter a social media competition.

Entries with the hashtag #SQSuperheroes were entered to win a £75 Love Camberley voucher, which was won by Sian Waygood.

The events attracted a huge number of families to the shopping centre as visitors of all ages loving seeing their heroes.

Rhoda Joseph, Centre Manager for The Square Camberley, commented “Our superhero summer has been a fantastic success, and we are so pleased that so many families have been to enjoy our free activities and trail. Make sure you keep an eye out for more upcoming events here at The Square including an Autumn Fashion and Beauty Show on 1st October and Brainiac’s Mission to Mars on 28th and 29thOctober. With so much going on it is set to be a fantastic end to the year!”
