Surrey Heath Borough Council has launched a free counselling service for young job seekers living in Surrey Heath. This is thanks to a new partnership with The Workshop in Camberley and the Mindspace Foundation.
The Workshop provides free job seeking and career and development support to young people aged 18-24. Find them in The Square, Camberley, or email the team at theworkshop@surreyheath.gov.uk.
The Workshop has identified poor mental health as one of the largest barriers to employment for young people. Addressing this became a priority, leading eventually to a collaboration with The Mindspace Foundation.
Mindspace is a not-for-profit community counselling and training service providing mental health support people can trust. Find out more on their website https://www.mindspacefoundation.co.uk/
Mindspace Foundation Director Tony Capon said;
“Providing young people with an internal ‘toolbox’ of awareness, understanding and strategies to support their future mental health and well-being is one of our priorities at Mindspace. I’m thrilled that our collaboration with The Workshop will see Mindspace counsellors providing regular face to face counselling to young people in need.”
