On Thursday 23 February, we are once again partnering with The Square shopping centre in Camberley to bring you a Cost of Living Event, which will provide practical support and information.
From 4pm-6:30pm, chat with representatives from Surrey Heath Borough Council, and Citizens Advice Surrey Heath to receive advice and find out how to access support, including benefits and grants. Food items, toiletries and second hand coats will also be available at the event at no cost.
Councillor Sarah Jane Croke, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Safeguarding and Support, Surrey Heath Borough Council said:
“The Cost of Living event that took place in November was well attended which demonstrated the need for this initiative. We are really pleased that we can bring a second event to Camberley and Surrey Heath. Please join us on 23 February to receive guidance and assistance in an informal and relaxed setting. I look forward to seeing you there.”
Rhoda Joseph, Centre Manager, The Square said:
“The Square is grateful we can support local families during the challenging cost of living crisis with these events. Our friendly team are on hand to receive coats and dry food items beforehand at the Customer Service Desk. We’ll also be supporting the public to get the advice and items they need at the event.”
How you can get involved
The Square are now collecting non-perishable food and toiletries for distribution at the event, and are also accepting quality coats for adults and children. All items can be dropped off at the Customer Service Desk.
Any coats or items that are not distributed at this event will be donated to The Hope Hub and the Besom Food Bank.
